On July 4th, 1967, Matt Burton, America's greatest secret agent, sacrified his life in order to topple the world's largest, most dangerous terrorist organization, the Seigfried Corps. Now, over 30 years later, the Seigfried Corps has risen from its ashes with a plot so insidious that the very fate of the planet hangs in the balance. America has no other choice but to reactivate its greatest weapon - Matt Burton. But Matt Burton has been dead for 30 long years, hasn't he? If he is, then who is that man who just regained consciousness in a hospital bed? The man with Matt Burton's face, Matt Burton's memories. Who is - Matt Burton, Agent Zero?

| Where is this story going? Anthony is keeping quiet about the project, although, judging by his obvious influences in the spy genre, we're all in for a thrill ride. "I am a big Dean Martin and Matt Helm fan and you can guess the rest from
there," he said.
The Matt Burton project is created and
written by Anthony Cacioppo and Chuck Foulds. Chuck did all the layouts and
penciled the first 34 pages. Artist Ed Coutts is penciling pages 35 to 64
and will be painting a wrap-around cover from a Chuck Foulds pencil version. Inking is by Anthony Cacioppo, Richard Campbell and Chris Leidenfrost. Lettering is by Sam Edmisten.

"I met Chuck Foulds through the mail," said Anthony. "We started doing some New Gods
submissions for DC comics and Chuck also has done some work at Kaso comics
penciling pages of the title "Project Burner" and a lot of other jobs for us
here and there.
Like many of the projects at Kaso, everyone pitches together to put together an exciting package. "I know Ed Coutts through Innervision Comics and he and Chuck are
my co-creators and co-artists on numerous projects and artwork. I know Sam Edmisten from a friend and artist James E. Lyle and he has gladly
come aboard to do some great lettering work for us over at Kaso."
|
| Pulling together on a comic does not mean Anthony's team has created an unfocused mess like many collaborative comics today. Anthony was careful to keep the team moving in a direction. "I am not a big fan of the Marvel Method. Chuck and I did the script along
with model sheets to all the characters. Chuck then did all the layouts to
the book. We communicated mostly by phone and by the computer. This was a
BIG project from the start."
A first for Kaso, Matt Burton - Agent Zero will be the first Kaso comic lettered electronically on computer.

Anthony and the gang have no reason to rush the process. "We really did not have a time-frame in mind," he said. "I always loved Spy movies and comics. I wanted to try something along those
lines for years and I finally came up with something that I think will work well as a comic book or graphic novel."
