As member of creative teams, James' work has appeared in countless comic books and graphics projects. For instance, he drew two issues worth of Saint Germaine (of which one was published, below) for Caliber in 1997. His art appears in a couple of panels of the Magus book below. He worked on two Turok projects for Acclaim, inking the majority of Turok: Shadow of Oblivion in the Summer of 2000 with friend Mike Mikolajczyk and drawing a pinup for the back of Turok: Evolution (colored by Buzz Setzer) in 2001. Two pages of previews and the back cover on the Quest book Chronicles, below, were drawn by James.

Through Comics Conspiracy, James worked on all four Para Troop books in 1996. After turning down the penciller duties, the publisher contacted James to do the cover and logo for the series, which turned out to be the cover of the ashcan edition and the cover of issue four. He colored the cover to issue two and issue four's cover had his logo, pencils, inks and colors.

Para Troop inker Anthony Cacioppo hired James for work in his Kaso comics line, lettering a number of books, doing some collaborative editing and inking here and there, switching from hand lettering to computer in mid-job for The Risen and The Dead #1. The recent Kaso catalog book, previewing coming projects, was almost completely designed by James.

Many commercial jobs also cross James' desk, from designing an entire alphabet based on the Old Testament to drawing movie storyboards. James' versatility, ability to switch styles to match needs and overall knowledge of the mechanics of printing from concept to completion contribute to his success and demand as illustrator.
